Something new every day...

...and was I NOT ready for this?!?! Will is getting so strong ad surprises us every day. Guess we will be moving the mattress down!

Officially a sitter!!

Over the last few days Will has become so good at sitting by himself! We still have some tumbles now and then, but I can set him down and he will actually sit there and play! This really helps mommy get things done...too bad I only have a few weeks left until school starts.

Mommy's little boy

Well, apparently Will is somewhat like his Mommy too, he loves to read!! The other day I was reading my Parenting magazine and Will wanted one too. So, I found an old magazine and let him have at it! This is what he did..

6 months today!

Happy 6 Month Birthday Baby Boy!

I cannot believe that 6 months have already passed, and so quickly! Our little boy is changing constantly and turning into a big boy before our eyes! He babbles at us as if we are having conversations, he eats like a little adult and plays all day! These past 6 months have been an amazing time for Patrick & I. Watching our little boy grow is so much fun, and we cannot wait to see what else is to come!

We went to see Dr. Taylor for Will's 6 month appointment this morning and he is developmentally right on track! He is approximately 26 inches and 17.4 lbs (in the 50%tile for both). Dr. Taylor said she is very happy with how he is progressing and we won't see her again until his 9 month appointment!

Always a happy boy!

Will's new "toy" ~ there is an apple inside the mesh he can chew on.

Sitting up?

Will wants to sit sometimes...other times he just wants to TRY to crawl (he looks like an inchworm!), or at least move somewhere. The morning of July 4th while we were cleaning, cooking, getting ready to have friends over, Will decided he wanted to TRY and sit up on his own. Now, he was sitting in the crevice of the couch, BUT he sat like this for several minutes! Our baby boy is growing up so fast....and we love every minute of it!

Sitting by myself is so much fun!!!

Gotta balance myself, this is kind of tough!!

Taking a break!

Bath Time!

Now let me just say that Will LOVES his baths...apparently he just loves the water! Our very good friends Melissa & Layne came over the other day and brought Will a present!! He saw himself in the mirror with his frog towel and just started SMILING!! So, Daddy & I thought we needed a picture of him in it to share with everyone!

Hungry Boy!

We definitely have a morning baby...he is always in a good mood in the morning (if only it would rub off on me!) He sits and waits patiently for his breakfast and plays with his toys in his highchair, and then gobbles up his cereal and fruit!

As I was cooking dinner one night this week, Will decided that he wanted to take part! Anyone who knows Patrick well knows that his favorite vegetable is corn, and it looks like his son is taking after him. I had a bag of frozen corn and a bag of frozen green beans and, of course Will picks up the corn and starts chewing on the bag! I really don't think this child could be any more like his Daddy!!

Riley & Will

Riley has definitely taken an interest in Will lately...and Will loves him! Since Will is into grabbing anything and everything he can get his hands on, we find chunks of Riley's fur in his hands often! Thank goodness Riley does not mind. The only problem we have is Riley REALLY likes to give Will kisses....so we are working on that :-)

5 month birthday!

Not too sure about this new thing....

Well, it is a fun place to play with my toys!

For Will's 5 month birthday Mommy decided it was time to set up the highchair. Will has become VERY interested in what Patrick & I are doing when we are at the table so I thought he would enjoy having his very own seat at the dinner table! He has become quite the little eater in the past month. We started with peas which he liked ok, moved on to carrots, and now sweet potatoes. I thought since it was his birthday I would let him have something sweet, so right before bathtime we gave it a try with some pears....the expression says it all! He likes his veggies better!!

Water Baby

On Monday Will & I spent the day in Galveston with my my side of the family. We thought about going to the beach but the seaweed was out of control so we set off to the pool! Will absolutely LOVED being in the water (I figured he would since he loves his baths). He laughed and played in the baby pool, and wore himself out! He was about asleep by the time we got back to the room!

And we have a tooth!!!!!!

No pictures yet because there is no way he would sit still long enough. But ... you can feel it, and just barely see it! Our baby boy is growing up!

I didn't do it!

What? I didn't do it, Mommy!

Really, I was trying to get something else!

See, I just wanted the scissors!

I am afraid we have a very independent baby on our hands....he REALLY wants to give himself a bottle these days. We try to put it into his mouth and he has his hands wrapped around it the whole time. Sometimes he ends up taking the bottle out of his mouth rather than helping the situtation.

DISCLAIMER: Patrick & I were both standing right there, and we would never have let him actuallly pick up the scissors!! We really are responsible parents :-)

It's official..we have a roller!

Getting ready to roll!

Almost there!! I want that teething ring!

Got it!

Look at me, Mommy!

Will is rolling over like crazy these days. Last week when we spent the day in Baytown was his first time. He took a break for a few days but then today he has been rolling over all day!

Peas, please!

Will is officially eating solid foods! We have been feeding him cereal for a few weeks, so we decided it was time for something else. After thinking about it, I decided we would do some veggies first because I knew if he had yummy apples, pears, and bananas he would NEVER want peas, squash and green beans! So, on Monday I steamed some peas, and pureed them (I decided to try making my own baby food!! It was so easy). He actually did very well with the peas! He is now opening his mouth wide open for the spoon, although he does make a face of absolute disgust for the first bite of everything!

So Many New Things!!

Will had quite an exciting weekend! We were very busy, and our little guy was happy as could be...as long as he was getting attention, that is.

Will is trying desperately to roll over. He gets to his side, and gets stuck on that arm. I was on the floor with the camera for probably 15 minutes with him, and he was trying to get over...I just know it is going to happen soon!

He is also working on sitting up as you can see. He puts his arms down and holds himself, and then next thing you know his tummy is flat on his legs!

He got his first pair of sunglasses and a matching hat/swimsuit - be on the lookout for a post on his first swimming experience later in the week! We are going the Aunt Kelley & Uncle Robert's to spend the day with Jacob and Emalee tomorrow.
He was too funny with the sunglasses! I think he actually liked them!

We also experimented with the sippy cup for the first time! It went .... okay. He got the hang of holding it with no problem, but all he wanted to do was chew on it! He did not get that he was supposed to suck on it.

And at the end of our long, exhausting, busy weekend our little guy was worn out!
