Sick little boy

We are now going on Day 3 of Will running fever .... he is just not himself when he feels bad and it makes me so sad. Patrick took him to the doctor Thursday morning, and he said it is just something viral that will pass in a few days. That makes it even worse because all we can do is alternate Tylenol and Motrin to keep his fever down. You can tell when it is getting close to a dosage time because he slows way down, and then about 30 minutes after he is peppy again. We have tried to explain that he needs to not get too excited, but his 2 year old ears don't quite get that! Last night he actually laid on the couch with me and watched the entire movie Finding Nemo - and he has never done that before. As I write this he is sitting in his high chair attempting to eat some breakfast and watching Mickey. Hopefully today will be the end of fever, and he will be on the mend!

Laying on the couch - can you tell he can't breathe unles his mouth is wide open? Poor baby.....not feeling too hot.

Some recent pictures

Since I have been kind of a slacker recently ... summer is almost here, and I will be better, I promise! End of the year stuff just gets crazy, but I cannot wait to be home with my boys for the summer! We have lots of fun things planned to do with Will since we will both be home!
As I sit here and type this morning, I have my leg propped on the ottoman, and Will walks up and says to me, "ABRE!" which mean open in Spanish because he wants me to lift my leg so he can get through. I am amazed at what he remembers (it has to be from a Diego episode). I know I am biased, but he is so smart!

Namaw and Pawpaw got Will a sandbox for Easter, and Will loves it (even if Daddy is dragging him around the yard in the top)!

And hiding under the top...silly boy!

We're still here...

There is lots to update on ... Will is busy as usual! He is finally settling in to his Mother's Day Out program. No crying last week when Patrick dropped him off! YAY! He will go to Miss Michelle's house over the summer since the church won't hold MDO until next fall.

On a totally different note, we are definitely in the terrible 2's. Talk about throwing fits ... wow! He lets us know when he does not like something. He also has selective hearing these days. Sometimes Patrick and I cannot help but laugh at him.

The child loves to talk - it does not matter what he is talking about either. He sits in the backseat and talks to himself, points out everything we drive by, "Look, Mommy boat. Nother boat!" and "There horses." He also counts everything (in English and Spanish). Last night we were in the living room hanging out and he starts telling us, "SING! SING!" We had no idea what he wanted us to sing so we started, "Row, row, row your boat" and he was singing right along after hearing it about 2 times. I really don't know what we did before he started talking, he is our entertainment!

I'll post new pictures soon...

This morning Will visited YaYa and Pa for a little bit while Daddy went to do personal training, and Mommy cleaned!! I was alone for a little over an hour and got SO MUCH DONE! Right when Will got home he asked for a waffle and wanted to color...

He never smiles normal anymore!

While Will and Patrick were gone, Riley and I enjoyed the nice weather and peace and quiet!

What's going on at the McLendon's?

Well, we have been busy! I have hardly taken any pictures of Will lately, but promise to take lots this weekend during his Easter Egg Hunts!

His newest sayings:
"Where's {insert someone's name} go?"
"What's that sound/noise?"
"Hi, my name Will, who you?" adn then wants to shake hands
And I got the infamous "Why?" last night ..... oh great!

He is very into baths and showers right now - he would take as many as we would let him a day. He is also always "hungy" or wants his "meeeeelk". You would think we never feed the poor child. He is also adding funny sounds to the end of all his words, it is like he is puckering his lips - like my Mom has become YaYaw, rather than YaYa.

Patrick brought him up to school yesterday during my planning time and he ran up and down the 2nd grade hall like he owned the place! He huuged all the other teachers, got to feed the fish in one classroom and visit the library where he yelled out, "Bye bye!" as we walked out! I think the child has a future in entertainment!

Patrick and I went out of town last weekend to a friend's wedding and Will got to stay with both sets of grandparents for a night ... but I think we were all happy to be back together as our little family! We missed our little man!

Fishing with Daddy

This afternoon we took Will down to the pond for his first fishing trip. He was pretty cute - so excited, but as with everything in a 2 year old's life the excitement was short lived and he was ready to go....I do think as he gets bigger this will be something he and his Daddy will do often.

Zoo ... see amuls!

This is what we heard the whole way there!! He was so excited to see the animals ... he named all of the animals he knows, and their sounds. It was great watching him, and his excitement! He loved all the animals in the beginning, and as we were there a little longer her got a little tired and distracted...here are some pictures of our day at the zoo!

Catching Up...

Our USB cord to download pictures from the camera to the computer stopped working so that is why I have not posted any recent pictures. Patrick got us a new one today. Miler came and spent the day with us last weekend, and Will has been his usual crazy self ... so here are a few pictures of our boy in the last couple weeks!

Sick boy...or not!

Sunday, Patrick and I went to Lowe's to pick up a few things for the yard. We stopped by YaYa's and Will decided he wanted to stay. When we got back to pick him up, Mom said she thought he was a little warm, so I gave him some Tylenol and put him down for a nap. He had a low grade fever, but woke up from his nap and seemed a little better.....we had dinner at my parents where he wanted nothing to eat, but wanted milk. Bad move. After we ate he was reading a book with Pa, and got up and started walking toward my Mom calling for his "YaYa" in the most pitiful voice ever. YaYa picks him up and he is running fever so we decide to give him some more medicine which he procedes to choke on and then the milk comes back up -- all of it, and most of what he had for dinner too all over poor YaYa. It was bad.....so we clean him up, and go home. A little while later he tries some jello and seems to enjoy it, but it all came back up and got on our couch (red jello!). So he slept with us in our bed that night and I am pretty sure we all got no sleep. I came home at lunch Monday (exhausted and my allergies were killing me) to a child who did not even seem sick! He did, however take a 3 hour nap, which allowed me to get some rest too...whatever it was, it was short lived, thank goodness!!

What's New with Will?

Just wanted to update everyone on what has been going on with us ... we are busy keeping up with Will! He is getting so smart and talking more and more everyday. We are constantly amazed at what he says and does - repeating us, and things he hears on TV. He wants to do everything we do!

What Will is doing:
*Saying "I uv u" - his I love you ... So sweet!
*Playing with his barn - a Lego set he loves
*Eating broccoli
*Wearing his hat and sunglasses
*being Mr. Polite! - he says thank you, you're welcome, and please without being prompted
*Trucks - especially "BIG TRUCK!!" when he sees them out
*Rocco - he loves to hug on Rocco all the time
*Toby (our neighbor Tom's dog) - he says, "Toooby bahk" translation - Toby bark!

I am sure I am leaving something out. The kid is hilarious! We never had any idea how he'd keep us laughing and entertained constantly. Every stage is fun in a new way, and we are LOVING this stage!!

Sorry for no pictures - our USB cord seems to not want to work to download pictures...technology makes me mad sometimes!
