Getting ready for our day ...

Our little man getting ready to go see Ashley, or as he says "Aswey"
These sleepy eyes make me sad every morning ... I wish he could just sleep until he wanted to wake up

He loves his "mook" ~ it is the first thing he asks for when wakes up!

What's going on?

Well, not a whole lot ... finally our life has settled down. Will loves Ashley & Trey and I could not have asked for a better situation! Our little boy is back to our little boy - wild and crazy!! He is in his terrible 2's (a bit early) in a bad way. He is throwing fits, screaming, you name it and he has done it lately! But the fits are short lived, especially since I just ignore him when he starts. These fits mostly just happen for me ... gotta love being the Momma! You get the best and the worst. He now yells across the house when he wakes up, "MOMMA!" over and over until I get to him (it is better than crying!) He is talking like crazy, he seriously says everything we say, and loves to sing! Every day is something new and exciting!

Here are some pictures over the last 2 weeks:
He climbs on all the chairs, I found him in our formal dining oom just hanging out!

After a LONG day ... relaxing with some milk and the Backyardigans (or Dondon as he calls it)

Eating chicken nuggets with ketchup - he LOVES ketchup recently

Playing at the Park

Patrick took Will to the park Sunday afternoon so Mommy could have some "Mommy time" ... it was nice! I am very lucky that my husband thinks often of my needs, and lets me have my alone time every now and then! Here are some pictures of Will running around the little lake ~ Patrick said he had a great time wearing himself out!!

We have had a great week so far with Ashley. Tomorrow marks 1 week of Will staying with her, and I am a much happier Mommy these days!

Will's First Days with Ashley

The first two days have come and gone and we are thrilled! Ashley has been ready to distract Will both mornings, and he has done pretty good. This morning he realized Mommy was leaving so he was a bit clingy but Ashley to the rescue ~ they went to look at Baby Trey sleeping! She said he realized about 40 minutes later I was gone and cried a bit, but that was it. I truly think this is going to be a wonderful situation for us, and I think this will become Will's second home.
These are all pictures Ashley took with her phone and e-mailed to me throughout the day (to help ease mommy's mind!)

Our busy weekend!

Saturday we decided it was time to work in the yard. The weather was finally nice enough to be outside for a while, and everyone is actually WELL! We have been wanting to get out there and fix the horrendous landscaping, or lack thereof! Will was such a great helper digging and of course playing the dirt - he is ALL BOY!
So here is what we started with ....

This is what it looks like after! Much better! We still have some work to do, but are so happy with how it looks now. I cannot believe we let it go for as long as we did...

Saturday morning before we went outside to work we had the door open to the screened in back porch - Will had a blast (and so did Rocco) going in and out! We can't wait until the weather gets cool enough to do this every weekend!

Making a mess - as usual!

Update *** update to the update!!****

*** We chose someone who will be watching Will! Her name is Ashley, and she has a 5 month old named Trey. Mom & I met her earlier in the week, and feel totally confident she will provide wonderful care for Will. Her husband, Mike, was also there, and we thought he was great too! Please pray for Will and his new transition ~ daycare did not go so well, but I think this will be so much better for our little guy! I am much more comfortable with this situation. I just hope he adjusts quickly!!!!

Well .... as of this week, Will is no longer in daycare. I just could not send him back after the "Hurricane Break" (as my sister likes to call it.) He got sick again last weekend and this time his fever spiked to almost 103, and it totally stressed me out!! He ended up with strep throat, my poor baby :-(
So, I have been on the hunt for new arrangements - I can only pray that we find someone half as great as Mary was. I know no matter where he stays while I am at work there will be an adjustment period, but being in a home is so much different than daycare. I know we will not be fighting illnesses on a weekly basis, and he will be getting much more attention!
He has stayed with YaYa this week, and has been a much happier boy - almost back to normal! I think as soon as he is done with his THIRD ROUND of antibiotics and his tummy gets back to normal we will be doing good.

After Ike ....

Well, we are all safe and sound! **Including our Baytown & Pasadena family members (I was a nervous wreck about all of my in-laws staying in Baytown! Thank the Lord they are all safe!). No real damage anywhere, some down trees and loss of electricity but everyone and their homes are good.
We just got power back last night around 11:30 .... it was a LONG 5 days! Will is SO out of his routine - exhausted and overstimulated, but such a good kid through the whole thing. We stayed here the 1st night - hot, tired and ready for electricity. We then heard it was going to be a while so we took a trip to stay with Uncle Josh, Aunt Amy, & Miler for a night. Even though we were without power we wanted to be in our home after a day away. So we came home, spent a night here and then a night at my parents (who had a generator). And last night during our "camp out" the electricity came back on!!!!!

Hope everyone is safe, and there was no damage (or little / easily fixable - is that a word?)!

Getting ready for Ike

Patrick spent the day getting hurricane supplies. Yesterday evening we took advantage of all being home together! We went and had mexican food for dinner and when we got home decided to take advantage of the "calm" before the storm. It was so nice outside we sat and let Will play a while before bedtime.

Our Week

Well, I have no pictures to post because, well, to be honest this week just plain sucked. I thought by Will's 3rd week things would be better, but he still cries when we drop him off. He still has a snotty nose, the rash is getting better, his cough is still there ... oh, and he puked all over my Tahoe over Labor Day weekend. We did have a great evening yesterday for the first time; he threw a terrible fit at night before bedtime Tuesday and Wednesday - which he used to do perfectly. Thursday night was good, we played outside for a while, then showered and he was ready to read, say his prayer and go night-night (thank goodness, Mommy is about to lose her mind!)
Anyway, please pray for Will that he adjusts soon, and that his immune system builds up quickly. I hate seeing my baby boy sick :-(

Family Picture

Patrick & I had a night out last night to celebrate our birthdays ... Will stayed with YaYa and Pa. He is still getting over the crued. He was on the road to feeling better, but his cough got worse, and then this morning he woke up with a rash all over. I am not liking this daycare thing AT ALL. I am ready to find somewhere else for him to go if this continues!

LOOOONG Week

Will started school this week. Monday went great, he was ready to play. Tuesday he realized he had to go (and stay) again, and cried a litle when I left. Wednesday, he told me, "All done!" when he saw his teacher and started bawling .... and when my Mom picked him up Wednesday afternoon he was congested, VERY congested. So, YaYa took him to see Dr. Taylor on Thursday who said he had a sinus infection, and gave him some anitbiotics. When I got home his fever was up to almost 101 (and Will has never run fever). Needless to say he did not go back to school this week .... THEN Mommy felt kind of bad Thursday night, and woke up in the middle of the night running fever with a very sore throat. Felt terrible Friday morning, so I went to work, and left early for a dr. appointment at 2:00 - AND I HAVE STREP THROAT! Luckily, Dr. Laningham gave me a shot, and a ZPac and I already feel much better. Will seems to be on the road to recovery as well, but is still pretty fussy. Please pray that next week goes better with school ~ it is so hard to leave him crying :-(

Helping Daddy take out the trash

As we were winding down last night (obviously right before bath time for Will), I took the trash bag out of the trash can for Patrick to take out ... Will has apparently seen us do this a few times! He drug it all the way through the kitchen, down the hall and to the door out to the garage! Our little man!

Will starts "school" tomorrow as I go back to work ... please keep us all in your prayers (this is a very difficult transition ~ for Mommy!)

Mommy's "ot"

or something sounding like that ... it is definitely hat in Will's language, but does not quite sound like it! I wear my hats on the weekends when we run errands (and I don't feel like fixing my hair! haha!) Will LOVES hats! He goes into Pa's closet and tries to take his hats, he goes and finds Poppy's hats and wants to wear them, he takes PawPaw's hat and tries to put it on ... he LOVES hats!!!!!!!!!! So, he found mine today after I took it off, and this is what he did (he also likes to cover his face and run ... scary!)

Eating with a fork

Mr. Independent pretty much does not want anyone to feed him anymore. So, what we end up with is a MESS! And of course Riley hangs around the high chair while Will eats to see what he can pick up off the floor ... lovely!
