Will in Training

Will has been to all 4 triathlons that Patrick has been in ... he loves watching the racers, and cannot wait until he gets to race too. He practices his "training" just like Daddy. During a triathlon the racers run beside their bicycle and jump on. Just from watching Will has picked up on this. We only got the hopping on part right at the beginning...we will work on a better wideo soon!

Scott Gregory is Here!!!

I was induced Thursday morning after arriving at the hospital at 5:00AM. They started my pitocin drip at about 6:00, then Dr. Winkelmann came around 9:00 and broke my water. Scott joined the world on August 26, 2010 at 3:19PM. He weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz, and was 21 inches long ... a very big boy! He is just perfect, and Will, Mommy and Daddy are in love! Will thinks his little brother is great, and keeps telling us, "I wuv Baby Scott!" We are so blessed and could not be happier with our sweet, little family.

Ready to get this induction going so we can meet our new baby boy!

Big boy ... I had no idea I could have an 8 lb baby!

Brothers meeting for the first time. So sweet!

Incredible Pizza

We took Will to Incredible Pizza for the first time about a week ago...he had so much fun. He got to eat his pizza and watch The Incredibles, then we hit the games. He wanted to play them all, but of course he was a little small for some things. He and Daddy had a good time doing some of the race car games. He won enough tickets to get a duck whistle (which is not annoying at all!) Then we had dessert, which is Will's favorite thing to do!

*The pictures are not great. I did not take my camera, so they are from my iPhone.
Bowling for little people!

Shoot 'em up game

And what they were shooting at...

Like father, like son

And on the way home ... sleepy boy!

Baby Scott update ... I will induced this Thursday, August 26. He seems to be quite comfy in Mommy's tummy! We are so excited and will post pictures as soon as we can of both of our sweet boys!

Celebrating Scott's Impending Arrival

Our sweet friends, The Lloyds wanted to throw us a shower for Baby Scott. So yesterday some of our closest friends and family gathered to shower us with gifts. We had a great time, and enjoyed getting to see everyone! We are very blessed to have so many people excited about the arrival of Baby Scott. I don't have too may pictures, but will add more when I get them from my father-in-law.

Our family of 3 ... soon to be 4!

Adorable diaper cake Kim made

Miler, Will and Peyton winding down after a long day!

At my latest doctor appointment we set a date of August 26 (1 day before my big 3-0!) for induction. If Scott does not arrive on his own before then we will induce that Thursday. I am so ready!

DRAMA!

Yesterday was quite the excitement filled day in our house...and not in a good way. As I was getting ready to go to the grocery store I walked from our living room through the kitchen towards the master bedroom. As I reached the hall, I saw and stepped in WATER, and lots of it, like an inch deep. Our washing machine decided to flood our laundry room, hallway, and into our bedroom. So, Patrick and I sprang into action ~ he got the wet/dry vac and started sucking out the water while I swept the excess water out into the garage. After what seemed like forever all the water was gone. Everything but our bedroom is tile (and if I have any say in the next year or so our bedroom will be tile also!) so the damage was not too bad. We did have to peel back our carpet, cut out part of the padding and dry out the carpet.
The repairman came out and after running the washer through several cycles figured out that our water level switch is broken. So instead of adjusting the water level, it just drained the excess out the bottom of the washing machine. Genius, right? After much thought Patrick and I decided we would go ahead and buy a new washing machine - we still had the ones that came with the house when we built in Cypress - and this morning we decided we NEEDED a matching pair (haha!). So, we set off and got ourselves new front loaders that will be delivered on Sunday. I am so excited! I know I am officially getting old when appliances excite me...30 is just around the corner!

Good News!

I had an appointment with Dr. Winkelmann yesterday. I mentioned to her that Will joined us early (37 weeks, 2 days), and was that an indication that maybe Scott would too?? I knew that her answer would be no, but after she said no, I told her there was no way I could make it to 40 weeks with this baby! She then said, "Oh, I'm not letting you go that far, we will induce...." So, I know that this little guy will at least get to join us by 39 weeks, which happens to be my birthday week! What a great 30th birthday present that would be, although I certainly would not mind if he came sooner! So, we know that in at least 7 weeks we will be a family of 4! I am so excited to meet Scott, and so are Daddy and Will.
His room is almost ready (ready enough for him, things not on the walls yet), his closet is organized, and Mommy is more than ready for this pregnancy to come to an end ... it is hot, I am big.
Will is so ready for his baby to get here. He refers to Scott as, "my baby", it is so sweet. He is so good with babies I know he is going to be a wonderful big brother and such a great helper to me. I have decided while I am on maternity leave he is going to be home with me a couple days a week. I want my alone time with Scott, but I also want Will to have that bonding time with his little brother.

In recent Will news, I was working with him the other morning on his letters and we decided to practice his name....

Let me tell you I am a proud Mommy!! He is identifying many of his letters, and we practice them on almost a daily basis. He is such a smart boy.

I just love this picture...he was hanging in bed with Mommy before bedtime.

Sick....

So, this last week we have been fighting something! Will got some stomach bug to start if off, followed by a runny nose and cough. He seemed to be feeling ok all last week so he went to school, and we did our normal activities (except swimming). Yesterday he woke up very cranky. He went along to the grocery store with me, but once we got home I could tell he as not feeling well and his fever came on quick. He took some Motrin, and fell asleep ... needless to say we had a long day with 2 naps and lots of snuggling. He seems to be feeling better this morning but we are headed to the doctor anyway in hopes of kicking this so e can get back to our fun summer!

Swimming!

Our very good family friends, The Brunsons - who live around the corner from my parents, just got a new pool put in this year. It is just beautiful, and we get to swim in it! Our little boy is going to be quite the fish ... he is still using floaties, but is making progress. He will take them off for periods of time, and try to swim by himself. Such a big boy!!

And here is a picture of Patrick and I before one of my good friends weddings. I am officially in the 3rd trimester!

School's Out for SUMMER!

We, here at the McLendon house, could not be more excited. Both being teachers, we are excited about our summers off together as a family...we hope to take Will to do lots of fun (and air conditioned) activities this summer. This heat is already making Mommy tired! Will is going to continue to go to school 2 days a week so he can stay in somewhat of a routine, but he will not have to wake up at 6 AM (and neither will I!). We really don't have much planned other than relaxing and enjoying being at home. I want to take Will to the beach, Space Center House, The Children's Museum and a few other things. So, hopefully we will be able to fit all of that in.
How cute is this child?? I just love him!

We started working on Baby Scott's room last weekend. We ended up finding the bedding at Target ... I had looked endlessly with no luck. All boy stuff is blue and brown or themed. I wanted neither of those. I found something online that I thought I liked ok so we went to look at it. Will picked up this bedding, and when I took it to look at it I ended up liking it. So, Will ended up picking out his baby brother's bedding! Then wonderful Daddy painted the room so we are on our way to having a room for our new little boy! Sorry it is blurry, I took with my phone to email YaYa since her and Pa were out of town ...

Almost 25 Weeks....

and I cannot wait for Scott Gregory to get here! As I continue to grow, and feel Scott moving more frequently I get more and more excited about having another baby. I have been doing a lot of thinking back to Will as a newborn, and that incredible time Patrick and I shared with our little boy. I know this time it will be so different, but just as incredible. Expanding our family to 4 is such an exciting thing. I cannot wait to see Will with his little brother. I cannot wait to see Patrick with his new son. I cannot wait to hold Scott in my arms and see what he looks like. I look forward to seeing our boys grow up together and realizing their differences, and what qualities they both share. Being a Mom is truly the greatest gift God gives us women, and I feel so blessed to have another little boy joining our family.

Now, I need to get moving on getting the world ready for him. I have got to pick out bedding. We have got to get his room painted, and decorated. Maybe I am not quite as ready as I thought...

Happy Mother's Day!

We used Mother's Day as an excuse to get the Williams side of the family together at my parents house on Saturday ... it seems like as all of us cousins get older and busier we see less of each other. It was a great afternoon full of kiddoes, fabulous food (always when cooked by YaYa), and family.

Will taking a break from playing.

23 weeks down...

and 17 to go! Woohoo! Things are going well with the pregnancy. I am growing, and can tell Baby Scott is too. I am starting to "see" him moving through my belly more often. He does not really have a routine yet, he has random times where he will be really active, and then will be very still for while. He definitely reacts to certain foods though .... mostly sugar (which I should stop eating so much of!)

Will is doing great. He is really learning things right now. He identifies the letter W anywhere he sees it ... and calls the M an upside down W. he is able to identify several letters and numbers and we are working hard on relating letters and sounds. He tells me all the time, "W says w, w, w, WILL!" Too cute. Another thing he is really into right now is Play-Doh. He wants it out ALL the time. Unfortunately, he has also picked up some not so great habits at school. He has said a few words I don't like coming out of his 3 year old mouth. It is apparent some of his friends must have older brothers and sisters. He also has a friend, Joshua, that he is so excited to see every day. Funny thing is that Joshua's mother and I worked together last year. We are planning to get the boys together over the summer.

I really need to take some pictures of Will. He is getting so big! I am amazed every day that my baby boy is no longer a baby ... and he lets us know that constantly. I sure am glad another baby is on the way!

What's New?

A whole lot of nothin'! We have just been busy with life lately ... Will got a double ear infection last week, but is on the mend. It as pretty funny, he told us it felt like he had ants in his ear. I thought that was an interesting description. But, it takes a lot to keep Will down for long! He felt bad Thursday evening, and part of Friday. By yesterday he was ready to go again! We spent part of our Saturday morning playing with Miler at YaYa's house, then went to church in the evening and did a little shopping afterwards.
Scott is definitely growing ... so, Mommy is too. I am feeling him regularly, and not just kicks and hits anymore. He moves and I can feel his entire body slide against my tummy. This morning he was curled up in a ball so you could feel (and see) this big knot in my stomach.
Life is good, Patrick and I are on the countdown for summer! Woohoo! Will is going to go to school on Tuesdays and Thursday so he can stay in a routine ... and I will be able to get things done!

Halfway there!

Thursday marked the halfway point for this pregnancy! Woohoo! It is really flying by, and while I LOVE being pregnant, I cannot wait to meet Scott. He is really an active baby in there...I am hoping this is not an indication that he will be any more active than Will (Lord help us!). Last night while laying in bed, Patrick was able to feel him kick for the first time! I have felt him now for at least 5 weeks. I did not feel Will until at least 20 weeks, but "they" say you normally do feel the baby sooner in consecutive pregnancies. Overall, we are all great. I am feeling well, growing by the day I feel like!! Will is excited, and talks to Baby Scott through Mommy's tummy. Daddy is ready for his other little boy to be here too!

18 1/2 Week Ultrasound

Well he is DEFINITELY a boy ... and a very active one! Scott moved the entire time the ultrasound tech was measuring and checking him out. I am pretty sure we are going to have our hands full!! We saw and heard his heartbeat, his spine, arms, legs, feet and hands. At one point he was playing with his feet. Here are a few pictures from today's ultrasound.

Easter

Yesterday Bentwater had their Eggstravaganza so we celebrated with family before and then went for the egg "hunt". This really can't be called a hunt, because the eggs are just laid out for the kids to run and grab. They had pony rides, which Will stood in line to do, and then freaked and would not get on the pony. So, we have a picture of Miler who LOVED the pony ride. Will jumped in the moonwalk, and that was about all he wanted to do. He did not have a nap which completely messed him up yesterday - he passed out in his playroom at 7:30 and slept until about 7:00 this morning. The Easter bunny came and left eggs for him to really hunt in the yard and he had a blast this morning!

The "hunt" in Bentwater

Our own Easter egg hunt this morning ... still in jammies

And with his loot!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope we all remember the real reason for this day of celebration...HE IS RISEN!

16 Weeks

I had my 16 week appointment yesterday and everything is looking great...I am a nervous wreck at each appointment. I literally hold my breath while Dr. Winkelmann finds the heartbeat. Luckily yesterday she found Baby Scott's heartbeat right away! It sounds strong, and she was more than happy with the genetic testing results from a few weeks ago.
I am starting to grow, and my clothes are all getting tight but I am not ready for maternity clothes either...that is frustrating! As I was getting ready for my dr. appointment yesterday I pointed out to Patrick how my tummy is growing, and Will rides his firetruck around behind and says, "Mommy, your bottom is growing too!" I had to laugh because otherwise I would have cried. I feel like I am putting weight on so much differently than with I did with Will. I am ready to look pregnant, not like I am just putting on weight!
I am pretty sure I have felt Scott a few times, nothing consistent yet though. I am so ready to be able to feel him moving around and be able to share that with Patrick and Will.
