Fishing with Daddy

This afternoon we took Will down to the pond for his first fishing trip. He was pretty cute - so excited, but as with everything in a 2 year old's life the excitement was short lived and he was ready to go....I do think as he gets bigger this will be something he and his Daddy will do often.

Zoo ... see amuls!

This is what we heard the whole way there!! He was so excited to see the animals ... he named all of the animals he knows, and their sounds. It was great watching him, and his excitement! He loved all the animals in the beginning, and as we were there a little longer her got a little tired and distracted...here are some pictures of our day at the zoo!

Catching Up...

Our USB cord to download pictures from the camera to the computer stopped working so that is why I have not posted any recent pictures. Patrick got us a new one today. Miler came and spent the day with us last weekend, and Will has been his usual crazy self ... so here are a few pictures of our boy in the last couple weeks!

Sick boy...or not!

Sunday, Patrick and I went to Lowe's to pick up a few things for the yard. We stopped by YaYa's and Will decided he wanted to stay. When we got back to pick him up, Mom said she thought he was a little warm, so I gave him some Tylenol and put him down for a nap. He had a low grade fever, but woke up from his nap and seemed a little better.....we had dinner at my parents where he wanted nothing to eat, but wanted milk. Bad move. After we ate he was reading a book with Pa, and got up and started walking toward my Mom calling for his "YaYa" in the most pitiful voice ever. YaYa picks him up and he is running fever so we decide to give him some more medicine which he procedes to choke on and then the milk comes back up -- all of it, and most of what he had for dinner too all over poor YaYa. It was bad.....so we clean him up, and go home. A little while later he tries some jello and seems to enjoy it, but it all came back up and got on our couch (red jello!). So he slept with us in our bed that night and I am pretty sure we all got no sleep. I came home at lunch Monday (exhausted and my allergies were killing me) to a child who did not even seem sick! He did, however take a 3 hour nap, which allowed me to get some rest too...whatever it was, it was short lived, thank goodness!!

What's New with Will?

Just wanted to update everyone on what has been going on with us ... we are busy keeping up with Will! He is getting so smart and talking more and more everyday. We are constantly amazed at what he says and does - repeating us, and things he hears on TV. He wants to do everything we do!

What Will is doing:
*Saying "I uv u" - his I love you ... So sweet!
*Playing with his barn - a Lego set he loves
*Eating broccoli
*Wearing his hat and sunglasses
*being Mr. Polite! - he says thank you, you're welcome, and please without being prompted
*Trucks - especially "BIG TRUCK!!" when he sees them out
*Rocco - he loves to hug on Rocco all the time
*Toby (our neighbor Tom's dog) - he says, "Toooby bahk" translation - Toby bark!

I am sure I am leaving something out. The kid is hilarious! We never had any idea how he'd keep us laughing and entertained constantly. Every stage is fun in a new way, and we are LOVING this stage!!

Sorry for no pictures - our USB cord seems to not want to work to download pictures...technology makes me mad sometimes!

Playing with Peyton

While we were in Austin for the Marathon we got to visit our good friends, The Lloyds. It is funny we all knew each other prior to either couple getting married, Dianne and I are sorority sisters, and Patrick and Mike are fraternity brothers ... so getting together with them is always fun! They have a precious daughter, Peyton, who Will enjoyed playing with while we visited and had dinner at their house. Will did fall and get his first real BIG knot on his head - he fell flat on the tile and it sounded like it hurt! Once he recovered though he was ready to play more. It is sad that they live in Austin and we so rarely get to get together - move closer!

Peyotn smiled like this pretty much the whole time - she is so stinkin' cute!

How sweet is this?

We did it!!!

This morning Patrick and I completed our first half marathon ~ 13.1 miles! We have been training and working toward this goal since the summer. It was truly one of the greatest feelings of accomplishment crossing that finish line and knowing we reached our goal (without walking at all)! Here are a few pictures from our day .... it was such a great experience, and I think we are ready to do another one!

You can just barely see the Capitol Building in the background lit up at 6AM (click on the pictures to enlarge)

Randomness

Sorry for the lack of updates lately ... life has been busy with our big 2 year old! Here are some pictures of Will over the last few weeks being the busy boy that he is!! His newest thing is trying to count in Spanish...it is so funny. We were sitting around one night and he was just babbling, and I finally realized he was attempting to count in Spanish. We will try and get it on video!

His new thing is turning the couch cushions up and sitting on the spring part of the couch

Sitting in one of his toy buckets (which he emptied all over the floor as you can see!) and eating some grapes

W-I-L-L

He can spell his name!!! We have spelled, written, and spelled some more for as long as I can remember ... W-I-L-L, over and over and over. So, today we are writing in his notebook and I ask Will, "How do you spell your name?" and he answers, "W...I...L..L!" So much fun! He amazes us every day!!!!!!

However, he is as stubborn as his Momma and only does it when he wants to! Like right now, I am asking him to do it, and he is just telling me "No name!" over and over....wow, do we have our hands full!!

Pictures....

We have been quite busy over the last week! Here are a few pictures of our boy and what he has been doing ... he is TALKING LIKE CRAZY! He says anything and everything you ask him to. This is both good and bad, for obvious reasons! We have a very independent child on our hands, too!

Daddy and Will working on their laptops!

Working on his tractor (Patrick's childhood toy)

And on the motorcycle (P's adult toy! HAHA!)

Blowing out his candles on his real birthday - he loves the Happy Birthday song and is still singing it a week later! I cannot believe our baby is 2!

Birthday Celebration!

Yesterday we celebrated our baby boy's 2nd birthday ... we cannot believe tomorrow he will be 2! These have been 2 of the fastest years of my life! Will is so blessed to have so many family members who traveled quite a distance to help him celebrate. We had a Diego cake which he LOVED! Check out the video (at the bottom of this post) - he LOVED being the center of attention when everyone sang to him, and when he got to blow out the candle! He wanted more ... so we sang twice and he blew out the candle twice! And we will do it again tomorrow for his real birthday! He got lots of great gifts and tons of new clothes!! Thank you to everyone who shared in this fun day with us!

Notice at the end he is pointing because he wants to blow out the candle again! He is a mess....

Cuteness!!

Patrick and I think Will is actually starting to figure out his sunglasses. He likes to wear them all the time, but he is finally understanding the reason for wearing them! (Although you can't tell since he is wearing them inside!)

"Yiting", Bubbles, and new things!

Some of Will's new favorite things....
He constantly asks us for his "penshel" (pencil) and "popper" (paper) so he can "yite" (write). He is definitely my child - look at him being all studious with his book, and his paper & pencil!

Will has always been afraid of my bathtub with the jets - it actually made him cry a while back. I usually ask him if he wants me to push the button in my bathtub to turn on the jets, and I always get a firm "NO!" However he has been taking bubble baths in his bathroom which he loves and he let us turn on the jets last night so he could play in the bubbles...how cute?!?

**************************************************
New things Will is doing:
*"Oh no!" and then tells us something is broken (or boken)
*"Happen?" meaning what happened?
*"Whoa!" when he runs into something, or falls because he is SO CLUMSY!
*"Help, help" -insert Momma or Daddy when he is usually just fine but wants our attention...
*Counting to 10
*Drawing and identifying circles
*He is obsessed with apples, ham, pretzels and peanuts (yes, I know he is little but my grandparents gave him peanuts and he LOVES them - clearly we have no allergy)
