Dining Diva's Christmas

Tonight was our FIRST annual Dining Diva's Christmas Party!! My 3 very best friends from college came over tonight and we had such a great time! We had Jen and Brandon, Emily and Matt (and we LOVE Matt by the way! he is wonderful for Emily!) and Jules over! We ate great food, drank good wine and had a fantastic time catching up! Will went over to Nonnie and Poppy's for a while, but came back towards the end of the evening and was a trip!!! He went up to all the girls (and only the girls) and would grab their hand and say "PULL!" and pull them into his playroom. SO funny!

**He also counted to 10 today - first time Patrick and I both heard it together! It was crazy. He was hitting his baseball tee and counting each time - SO FUN!!**

I am so thankful to have the friends I do! We can go months without seeing one another and catch up like it was yesterday! I love you girls, and am so happy to have each of you in my life! Thank you for a WONDERFUL evening!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Saturday

So, today was somewhat of an uneventful day for us....Patrick and I got up and decided to get our run over with - we did 7.5 miles!!! I gotta get over my 7 mile hump - maybe next week. Then we got Will from my parents, had breakfast and a nap. I was exhausted, and so was Will and Patrick watched football while we slept. We headed out when Will woke up and only made it to Home Depot for our scented pine cones. It was rainy and gross so we came home thinking it would stop in time for Bentwater's Christmas lighting, BUT unfortunately it did not :-( So, we spent our evening at home hanging out. I am SO not going to be ready to go back to work Monday!!! Only 15 days 'til Christmas break - woohoo!

Thanksgiving ... sort of

I was such a bad Mommy and took no pictures ALL DAY! We had a great day at my parents with a ton of family - aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents! Will played football with cousins and showed everyone around his house. But, I took no pictures of all of that fun stuff :-(
So ... Patrick took a few at the end of the day:

Once we got home we were ready to get in the Christmas spirit (well, I already put the tree up, and some decorations!) It is amazing how our tree seems to have shrunk in this house ... guess we will be getting a new one for next year!

The big boy sitting at the table (Like the mismatched sippy? Thanks, Daddy!) Will said "Apoo! Apoo!" and climbed up in the chair. He wanted apple at the table like a big boy this day...most days he loves his high chair.

Updates

Sorry for the sparse posts lately .... our darling son broke our computer plug in so we have not been able to charge the laptop. I am on our old one which will probably shut off at any moment!
Will is just growing constantly - he is talking like crazy! He now says 3 word phrases like, "Thank you, Mommy!" He also wished Grandma and Uncle Josh Happy Birthday this week...plain as day! It is amazing how well he is communicating, and it just blows my mind how he's able to tell us things. He lets us know when he is hungry, he will say "HUNGY!!!" and hang on his highchair.
He has also taken quite a growth spurt, all of a sudden his jeans are high waters, and things I thought he'd NEVER fit in are fitting! Our baby is growing up....he will be 2 very soon. Just 2 months from yesterday!!
Life is great in the McLendon household - we are looking forward to the holiday season and time with family and friends!

Fall Festival

Bentwater hosted their annual Fall Festival today - tons of things for little ones and Will had a blast. I told him we were going to see the animals before we left and he was so excited, saying "AMULS, AMULS!" over and over .... of course we get in the petting zoo and he won't touch them, he just wanted to look. Then we walked by the OK Corral where they were having a gun fight (he ws not too sure about the loud bangs, but no tears). After that we went on a hayride, took pictures with pumpkins (or tried to!) Will got to "fish", play a rubber ducky game AND got an animal balloon! The best though was the slide ... he LOVED it and wanted "MORE, MORE!" But, they guy had to help him up to the top, and there were other kids waiting, so he only got 1 slide!

Will and Miler

Amy and Josh were still in town last night, so Uncle Josh came over to watch the Texas game with Patrick. Amy and I took the boys into the playroom to hang out (while our husbands yelled at the tv!) ... Miler was absolutely in awe of Will. It was too cute, he just stared at him! I cannot wait for Miler to get a little bigger so the boys can play together ~ it will be so much fun!

This evening was trunk or treat here in our neighborhood ... My sister, Josh and Miler came too! It was nice to have them here with us. So, our little dalmation did not do much trick-or-treating, he just ran around like a crazy man (when I let him out of the stroller). Then afterwards we took him to the tennis courts to run and play ... he LOVED it!

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch in Willis ... by the time we got there the pumpkins had been picked over pretty good, and of course our child is overly active so we do not have any great pictures of Will sitting and smiling in the pumpkins! However, he ran through the (almost empty) pumpkin patch yelling, "pumin!". Then we walked over to the patting zoo where he wanted to see the animals (again, repeating "amil!" over and over). But once we got in the petting zoo he just wanted to look, and the llamas scared all of us! They wanted to be very close to us, especially Patrick - I guess since they were eye to eye!!
After the petting zoo, we walked into the Litle Tikes Race Track - so cute, a bunch of cozy coupes on a little circular concrete track. Will had fun turning the steering wheel and backing up. Our last activity was going into the Old West town ... and he loved running around in the buildings! We had a great fun filled family day! Now Will is watching Diego, eating a hot dog, and looking like he is ready for bed ALREADY!













He also got a haircut today ... the girl BUTCHERED it, and I had to come home and fix it (and I had NO clue what I was doing!). I was furious when we left the place! We have got to find a good haircut place for him.
